I never pictured people. A bit strange for a photographer, i concede. I always had that weird sensation that i was made for picturing non-human things like animals or objects, or nature.
The best way i found to practice photographing people was going to events and, in that case, protests.
I went to take pictures in two events back in my university in Poitiers. I took my Minolta Dynax 500si with me with an Agfa Black and White film (which was 200 or 400 ISO). The first event was a small football event to raise funds for a Palestinian association. This event was a shy attempt to picture people, and i was scared of how they would think of a photographer.
The second event was the house warming party of a student-led coffee shop made during the protests against the University budget which started in February 2025. This included debates, discussions, a musical show led by a drag queen and a concert.
I shall say this was a difficult event that still led to wonderful pictures taken on the spot. One thing i could say is that i should check my focus more. As you will see, some are blurry or unrecognizable.
